Cotton Bowl 2011: Will this be Les Miles last stand as a Tiger? This years Cotton Bowl is not only going to be a great game. But I believe that this could be Les Miles last stand as a Tiger. With the expected and deserved exit of Rich Rodriguez from the University of Michigan this week, there is a vacancy. According to the Athletic Director in a press conference this week, they are looking to restore tradition and bring back a Michigan Man.
Well a quick search around the world finds only a handful of possible people. Jim Harbaugh had to be on the top of that list with his amazing job turning around the Stanford program in 3 years. As a result at least 3 NFL teams are courting Mr. Harbaugh with numbers that would make anyone jump ship. The other leading candidate would have to be Les Miles would served under both Bo and Mo in the Big House. And who has said publicly that the head coaching position at Michigan would be a dream job.
There are a few others, and not to discount them. But if Michigan wants to return to their roots. Bo’s roots, they need to find someone who either coached with him or played for him. Will Les leave? Only time will tell, but if no Harbaugh than I’ll would bet you see Miles in the Maze and Blue next year.
As for tonight’s Cotton Bowl. Les Miles has proved that he can find a way to win, not matter if he has to put time back on the clock. Tigers Win Tonight.
