Eurocom Corporation is one of the world’s largest developer of solutions for the mobile world and has just released a new graphics card for laptops based on the size MXM 3.0, which offers improved cooling with absorption and small, allowing the engineers of the various companies to create notebooks with integrated graphics better, more efficient and lower cost. The card in question uses the GPU AMD Mobility Radeon HD 6970M, the most powerful currently produced by the house in Sunnyvale for embedded solutions.

The graphics processor provides support for DirectX 11, to 5.0 s Hader model, the BD-3D and stereoscopic 3D technology as well as PCI-Express 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4a. In addition, the GPU is equipped with technology UVD (Unified Video Decoder) third-generation, able to accelerate operations in hardware decoding of video streams, high-definition formats including H.264 and VC-1. The Mobility Radeon HD 6970M GPU is based on AMD Blackcomb XT to 40 nm, with 960 units stream processors, a solution equivalent to the Radeon HD 6850 the world’s desktop.

The core operates at a frequency of 680 MHz and 2 GB of fast RAM type GDDR5 running at 3600 MHz, all coupled to a 256-bit bus. According to details released by Eurocom, the board would be able to mark a score of 3420 on the new synthetic benchmark 3D Mark11, 13,397 in the previous 3D Mark Vantage and about 25.4 frames per second with the Unigine Heaven 2.1. The TDP of 75 W, however, in addition to requiring an adequate cooling system, it signals the call for use only in heavy and powerful desktop replacement.
