During the press conference on February 9, 2011, HP introduced a new mobile product line-based WebOS, the first since the acquisition of Palm in 2010 for $ 1.2 billion. As you may have noticed already in HP and HP Touchpad Pre 3, the Palm brand was dropped to make way for the popular HP logo instead. In addition to HP Pre 3, the American company has launched a small smartphone from HP Veer arrontodata form, a device very similar to Palm Pré but in a more compact format.
HP Veer has dimensions of 84 x 54 x 15.1 mm for 103 grams. The thickness is almost completely occupied by the presence of a slide keyboard that slides under the screen. The mini-HP smartphone features a 2.6 inch touch-screen multitouch display with 320 x 400 pixels and has in the back a 5 megapixel camera. The term includes a Qualcomm MSM7230 processor (a CPU presented at the end of 2009, specifically designed for mid-range smartphone) to 800MHz.

The connection uses a 802.11b/g/n WiFi module (which function as mobile hotspot), Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS and 8GB of data storage space (6.5 GB are accessible to the user). Veer is a HP smartphone quadband GSM / GPRS / EDGE and 3G/HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA 5.76 Mbps, with a 950mAh battery will provide up to 5 hours of talk time or 300 hours in idle. The device has an accelerometer, light sensor and proximity.
On board, we WebOS 2.2 which ensures the operation, the synchronization of data in the cloud and access to HP Synergy Portal App Catalog to add applications. Also suitable for multimedia applications, HP Veer will be available in the United States in spring 2011.
