Hyundai Motor Company has completed development of hydrogen-ix35, FCEVO vehicle (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle) of new generation. But what matters most is the fact that the car, which is its rightful place among the versions of “Blue Drive” of the company (which includes the Hyundai range of more environmentally friendly), extensive dynamic testing will start from the very first week of next year with the aim to start mass production as early as 2015.
Ix35 adopt this innovative version of the third generation of the Hyundai FCEVO. E ‘powered by a fuel cell system that delivers a power output of 100 kilowatts, with two tanks for storing hydrogen.
The car is running smoothly even when the outside temperature is really hard (down to -25 ° Celsius) and can get to travel about 650 kilometers on a single charge. Basically, have the same autonomy as a gasoline car, a result that significantly improves (+76%) are obtained from the previous 370km FCEVO Tucson.
More than 95% of the technology that equips the FCEVO ix35 has been developed by Hyundai in close collaboration with some 120 Korean companies, all of the components industry. The entire drive unit is now 20% smaller than the previous one, a goal achieved by modularization of the bulky components, including fuel cells themselves, the balance of plant (BOP), the inverter and the control of high voltage connection.

Between 2004 and 2009 Hyundai participated in the various editions of “Learning Demonstration Program”, the green industry seminars organized by the Department of Energy of the United States. And next year about 48 ix35 FCEVO will become part of the “Fleet Program”for the U.S. domestic market, an operation supported directly by the Government of the Republic of Korea.
