For the Samsung i9200 Galaxy S2 with Android 2.3 Gingerbread approaching the time of debut. The South Korean online newspaper Chosun Ilbo reported that Samsung would launch at the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona a new smartphone, in all likelihood the successor to the Galaxy S. The information on the Samsung device is still relatively small but should be a top-level device, able to follow in the footsteps of the successful Galaxy S.

The little information available to describe a phone with large display, perhaps even 4.3 inches, with resolution 1280 x 720 pixels. But the Samsung S2 Galaxy would be especially able to fully exploit the features of Gingerbread Android 3.2, the latest release of Google’s mobile platform, presented last December 6. News are also expected for the processor: the first leaks dating back to last July, spoke of a 2 GHz chip, faster than ever before on a smartphone, while the newspaper the Korean Samsung S2 Galaxy should have a dual processor Core, in line with the news that major manufacturers are preparing to launch in 2011.

The official confirmation, however, not be long in coming: the Mobile World Congress 2001 in Barcelona, in fact, is scheduled for mid-February, 14-17.
